COVID-19 has put the world on its knees and halted lots of plans, but the lockdown and the social distancing regulations have provided space for environment reclamation. Human activities are controlled, hygiene is improved and there is more commitment to exercises and reliance on green diet. Going forward the following are happening at our campsite:
- Prayer retreats by individuals and groups, small enough to allow social distancing. Within the lock down many Christians have particularly found time to retreat and pray
- the rains have energized the planting of more trees, turf, herbs and spices. Be sure to plant a tree during your stay.
- Harvesting bamboo, conch apples and sour sop. For now, the fruits in season are freely enjoyed by guest as part of the first fruit offering
- Community outreach
- Publicity and documentation
Coming up: The annual LegacyTeens Camp 2021 is on subject to the C19 situation at the time. The famous camp brings together young people, Junior secondary to high school, to discuss matters of spiritual growth, teenage challenges and Bible-based principles of entrepreneurship.
This camp is like no other. The maximum number is 50 in line with our commitment to low-impact and high privacy standards. Successful camping lies in manageable numbers, high involvement and interaction, effective security and control of behavior. Camp Besania prides in a traditional camping experience right in the middle of mother nature.
Because of the rich camping experience and the strong bonding over the years, many campers never break away from the group. Many of our LegacyKids that transitioned into young adults return as junior facilitators, a rich experience that ushers them into social work and Christian service.
